"PASSIVE" means the passivity of the house, the thermal energy demand not exceeding 15 kWh/(m2•h), that is seven to eight times less than the average demand of a modern home. This means that, theoretically for heating one square meter of living space in a passive house consumes 1.5 m3 of natural gas or 4 kg of firewood or 2 kg of charcoal per year. Therefore, at today‘s prices the annual cost of heating a passive house of 150 m2 are about 160 UAH for heating gas, 250 UAH – when heating with wood and about 200 UAH – for heating charcoal.
